Laurence Garrido

Laurence has graduated from the ESCP Europe – MBA (Paris-Oxford-Berlin) in 1989 and a degree in Applied Languages – English and German, obtained in 1986. She has a career of 27 years in international human ressources. She has been based in Germany, Belgium and more recently in France, and has been operating on all 5 continents.

She starts her career in 1989 within Asta Medica in Frankfurt and create the international HR function following the acquisition of the Laboratoires Sarget, which allow to integrate 6 european affiliates. She also contribute to the implementation of an HRIS for the group in Germany.

In 1991 she moves to Brussels as a recruitment consultant, and becomes in 1993 the number 2 of the european HR of Ingram Micro. Ingram Micro is going through a strong growth within Europe and Laurence supports this expansion during 6 years : the company grows from 600 to 4000 people in Europe. She is in charge of acquisitions, key recruitment for HQ and affiliates, implements the performance management process and create a center of excellence training and development.

In 1998 she takes over the leadership of HR Europe at Flexsys and focuses on international careers as well as implementing HR policies responding to the needs of the strategy.

In 2000 she becomes the head of HR of KPN-Orange in Brussels, and drives the very fast development of the mobile network and of the sales and customer service teams necessary to acquire market shares. The company grows from 500 to 1800 people in 2 years.

Laurence joins Levi Strauss Europe in 2002 as the HR director Europe, based in Brussels. She is in charge of the Levi’s brand, the finance team, and later the commercial affiliates in Europe. She drives a major optimisation of the Supply Chain reducing the go to market..

In 2004 she joins the Virbac group as the Head of Corporate HR in the area of Nice.nShe is a member of the strategic committee and the executive committee, she creates the role, translates the group strategy in HR terms in the world, drives the strong growth of Virbac, and simultaneously make the HR function and the managers more professional. She leads the human aspect of acquisitions in many countries, and drives the integration in a differentiated manner depending on the maturity and the business model. She implements a vast leadership and talent management program. The Virbac group has grown from 2200 to 4500 employees in 11 years, multiplying the sales turnover by three and the Ebit by four, while at the same time becoming an employer of choice in the animal health industry.

In 2016 Laurence founds HR & Growth. After 27 years of passionating experiences supporting and coaching entrepreneurial teams, she is willing to become entrepreneur herself and propose her experience to executives who are facing people challenges linked to international growth. Today she is supporting companies in their strategic HR challenges and builds together with the executive teams the solutions adapted to the issues they face.
